Well, it is better, but in such a limited way - it looks far more like a tactical move rather than any change of feeling from Sharon.
All the while he's been moving out of Gaza, he's been continuing with WB settlements and building his own little (or indeed rather large) Berlin Wall to carve chunks out of the occupied territories and divide the remainder into hapless cantons, in true Bantustan fashion... it's not good and I think it will simply prolong the misery and strife.

I had hoped that with Arafat finally off the scene Israel might give the Palestinians a real chance. It's not as though they are actually any real threat to Israel - nothing in the ME is ; it's not as though Israel is desperate for the land; and they must surely see that dispossessing families and leaving them with nothing just breeds people with nothing to lose and steeped in hatred.
