That's for basic plus. No digital, no premium. If there's some way I can get cable for twelve bucks, I'd be thrilled to learn about it

My cable bill is $12 for 100 channels - I didn't just pull that out of thin air K! :)

That's Comcast's "basic Basic" package. You have to ask for it, because they don't advertise it. Comcast might not offer it in DC, I don't know.

I highly doubt that Comcast has such narrow margins that ala carte would break the bank. I suspect it has more to do with Comcast wanting to inflate premium package offerings than actual cost. Which is fine, that's business.
