Of more interest perhaps would be an explanation for why foreign terrorists would fly nearly 400 miles away from their intended target, turn around and head back for 56 minutes, fly over the White House, pass up the Capitol building with Congress in session, then make a wide turn, in order to hit the Pentagon on the side vacated for renovations. Golly, you'd think whoever was in control of the plane was interested solely in the hype value of hitting DC, while carefully avoiding harm to historical landmarks or persons of any real importance.
