OT-- and my apolgies to the thread--again. I just didn't want to be rude.

I think you missed my point, which was about a form of halo effect that occurs when people who are notable in one area speak about things in which they aren't expert, yet are granted a certain authority because of their success. Think Tom Cruise and Barbra for really egregious examples.
Pinter's writing is one thing, his opinions of war another entirely. He has taken very extreme positions in the past that have been quite controversial.

I was not being so much critical of Pinter, but of the people who fail to be discerning in what they hear because of this effect. Whether you or I agree with his opinion is irrelevant.
