Those numbers dont make much sense to me. For the third quarter, KDDI sold 3.22 million handsets or about 28% of the total that Garner cites. KDDI doesnt break down the percentages by service, but I feel safe in saying that the vast majority of the handset sales are CDMA.

WCDMA sales are doing ok in Japan but unfortunately we havent seen any acceleration in overall handset sales. None of the features in 3G have seen the type of acceptance that camera phones and imode saw in previous sales cycles.
