I bought my bright but spoiled high-school-age niece a new 60GB iPod because her 3-year-old 10GB model was almost full and the battery, which was totally shot, would have cost so much to repair (by Apple anyway) that it wasn't worth it.

She also asked for some Apple Music Store gift cards. I asked, "Have you already bought enough downloads to fill up 10 Gig?" "No." "Do you have that many CD's?" "No." "So how did you fill up 10 gigs? That's a lot of stuff." She replied "I have OTHER ways to collect music."

I was walking past her room and glancing at the iMac on her desk I saw that the leftmost icon in her Mac OS X dock after the Finder and Safari was Limewire.

No big surprise I guess.
