Tuition at the University of Illinois was less than at Danville Junior College in 1972.

I went to DJC for 2.5 years and the U of I for 2.5 years on your basic 5 year program supported by playing poker against farmers in Perrysville Indiana on Friday and Saturday nights as well as working off and on at grocery stores in the summer.

Tuition in 1974 at the U of I was something like $250 per semester. By my senior year I think it nearly doubled.

Well not quite I think it was like $450 a semester or so.
