The people who purchase new cars every year or three tend to think they are more financially astute than those who buy them.

I used to justify buying new by telling myself I would drive it for ten years. I finally realized that buying after some other poor person takes the biggest depreciation hit saves me even more. You don't get to drive the newest, coolest car in the group. I will trade the cool for the cash.
