Are you talking about doctrine or politics?

I have been trying since the beginning to differentiate between liberal Christianity and liberal US politics. Liberal Christianity would involve predominantly doctrine. It would also be about the church entity--it's hierarchy, role, style and other organizational factors. Religions to have reformed/liberal and orthodox sects. It's a normal thing, it would seem. And they would naturally be that way independent of form of government, assuming freedom of religion, and independent of politics.

For many on the US right, Christianity and politics are directly related to the point that for some they even merge. For example, some members have difficulty differentiating between what the church deems immoral and what should be illegal. On the left Christianity and politics generally are indirectly related or not at all related. It's a lot more loose, diffuse.
