For many on the US right, Christianity and politics are directly related

You don't have to search too far to find Christian folk who will tell you point blank that "tax cuts for the rich" are immoral - based on their interpretation of the Gospel.

For example, some members have difficulty differentiating between what the church deems immoral and what should be illegal.
