The difference is that most of the people in the red states (that people in the blue states seem to think are so poor) don't think of themselves as poor.

What good is being rich if you still think of yourself as poor and can only concentrate on the fact that some other guy has so much more than you? I've never seen so many unhappy rich white people as those in the blue states these days.
