December 13, 2004 Dear Scott, Republican Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (Tenn.) is seizing on public fear of an avian flu epidemic to try to ram through a sweeping liability shield for the drug industry – one that will leave victims of many vaccine and drug injuries with no compensation. Your action is urgently needed to stop Sen. Frist and others from sneaking this harmful exemption into a completely unrelated defense spending bill. This proposal is expected to come up for a vote this week. Please take a moment to demand that your U.S. Senators protect American citizens, and not irresponsible drug companies.
