Do you play limit or no limit? I play only no limit/pot limit for Hold Em and Omaha now, though I still play limit for Omaha 8 and Razz. I actually like pot limit more than no limit, but there are much fewer hold em games for pot limit and much, much fewer pot limit tournaments. I like limit Omaha, but the only site that has any action there is Party. I can play pot limit Omaha anywhere.
I think I've finally straightened out my pot limit Omaha game. At least I've been winning lately, which is a good sign. <G> One thing I've figured out is that if you have a hand you wouldn't raise with in hold em, you shouldn't even call in Omaha. I looked at what I was doing and found I had been calling a lot with a pair of nines and a vague flush/straight possibility with the other two cards. Now, I only call with a middle pair when my straight and flush draws are very defined. For example, nine of spades, nine of hearts, six of spades, jack of clubs is a no go. The same two nines with an ace of spades and a ten of hearts may be a go.
I have also decided that I have to play both ring games and tournaments. I don't know why that is. Logic would say that if you concentrate on one or the other, you should do better. But I when I lose, if I switch to the other format, I usually win, immediately.
That's nice, because I can work off bonuses anywhere. |
