Given the relative timing of your posts and those subsequent ban removals it's probably safe to infer that the moderator of that board reads this board.

That should come as a surprise to nobody.

What DOES come as a surprise is to check out the profile of the moderator. He or she joined SI as a subscriber in December, 2004. They moderate only one board. Apparently they have never made a single post in their own name. They have banned 24 people. So obviously they ban people without ever making a public comment about why, since they've never made a public post. (I can't comment on whether they've ever made a private post; the bannees would have to comment on that).

I am not privy to all the acvitity on SI, but I've been here for a lot of years, and I have never before seen a subscriber paying good money not to make a single post, but apparently only to monitor one board and ban people they don't want there.

Now that DOES come as a surprise, at least to me.
