A coupla years ago Kevin Costner had a movie where the bad guys got killed and the good guys got the girl. Open Range. I've seen it about a dozen times

If the bad guys always get killed and the good guy always gets the girl, there's hardly any point in watching. I'm old enough to remember when that was the case. If you've seen one, you've seen them all if the formula is always the same. I guess you don't mind repetition or are very easily entertained if you can watch one movie a dozen times. Seems to me that watching a dozen movies with the same plotline is effectively the same as seeing the same movie a dozen times.

People go to the movies to be entertained, not to be reeducated or to have their values questioned.

I was glad when it first became possible to have the good guy die or the girl walk off into the sunset. It's only entertaining if you don't know how it will end because it always ends the same way.

There are some movies I've seen more than once. But only because an interval of several decades and a faded memory made it possible for me to enjoy them the second time.
