It is the way the government has grown in the last several years that is illustriative. We are just at cross purposes. I'm glad to see you hang in there but we are just going to have to agree to disagree as to whether "starve the beast" types like Norquist and "our turn" types like Cheney are neocons. There is, of course, about Cheney, one of his defining features which is the restoration of the imperial presidency. Don't let anyone find out what we are doing; about energy policy, about torture policy, about whatever. No internal memos from the administration will go to senate committees involved in approving UN ambassadors or Supreme Court nominees. Strong state stuff.
