The best solution for 2006-2008 and beyond as opposed to dishonest, corrupt one-party rightwing rule we have now is an open, trusting alliance between Democratic centrists, progressives and GOP moderates. If those on the left insist on not cooperating with the centrists, we will all lose.
Remember, Rove's whole strategy for success, besides the cheating and smearing, is to divide and conquer. That is, to convince centrists that the liberals can't be trusted, and moderates that rightwingers know best. That is done through propaganda campaigns using wedge issues, smear campaigns and dishonest promises and claims.
If you look at the demographics now, only about half the voters fed up with Bush and Delay are liberals. We have about 25% liberals in this country, 25% rightwingers, 25% slightly to the left centrists, 25% slightly to the right moderates.
Do the math. We don't want anymore 50-50% elections where the Rove machine can cheat and win. We want landslides. |
