Heard this on the news coming home today--
The talk shows are going wild with it. One caller said she must be an atheist trying to ruin Christmas, the next that maybe she was a Christian who wanted the children to know the true meaning of Christmas and not the material, fake stuff. (Oh, great, let's bring separation of church and state into it too!)
I say, wow, I don't want someone with such poor judgment teaching my kids. Mine believed in Santa for as long as possible (Ammo says he still does.)

All those childhood beliefs, regardless of which ones you choose for your family, belong to you and them for such a short, innocent time. I would be very annoyed at someone making any of that magical time briefer.

Parents outraged after teacher says there's no Santa Claus

RICHLAND, Texas Officials at an elementary school in a Dallas suburb hope the furor is dying down after a first-grade music teacher let slip that there's no Santa Claus.

Parents made angry phone calls to Richland Elementary School in Richardson after the teacher spilled the Santa scoop.

Michael Millet says that telling a six-year-old that there's no Santa leaves parents like him with the difficult task of assuring the child to the contrary.

Richardson school district spokesman Tim Clark says he has good news. In his words -- "The teacher did hear from Santa Claus himself -- who heard about the situation and let the teacher know that the spirit of the holidays is alive and well -- and to pass that message along to the students."

Clark said the teacher will face NO disciplinary action.
