I know a LOT of environmentalists, spent fifteen years in their mecca, but I never heard of such a thing as he suggests. The whole driving force behind "environmentalism" comes out of the political left. Sure, there are a lot of clueless people who are "for" the movement because they have accepted the premises involved without knowing where they came from. Same problem we had with fellow travelers who got sucked into supporting communist fronts. In fact, it is the exact same sort of people,[in many cases the same ones] who are setting up environmental "fronts" in the same way today. The seminal work on this subject is Ayn Rand's collection of essays called, "The New Left: the anti-industrial revolution," published back in '69.
