except for the part about a Disneyfied NO.

You and CB know NO far better than I.

But what will the French Quarter and Bourbon Street be like without poor blacks, creole, and all the zany characters carrying on at fringes.

What will the French Quarter be like without the smell. What will it be like when it is filled with white folks and black musicians from Julliard.

And perhaps during the tourist season they can schedule nostalgic funeral processions 3 times a day coming out of Harrah's or some other to be built Casino that will cash in on the brand.

The French Quarter and Bourbon Street will survive. The brand is too valuable to give up. But, will NO still be the "Big Easy"? Or, will it become a "Little Disney"?
