last gen to do better than their kids. I think he means that the boomer generation was upwardly mobile, but the current generation has a tendancy toward being less well off. That seems to be a trend, but who knows what new opportunites the next generation will have. In the 1980s it appeared that they would all be working for the Japanese. Now it appears they will have Chinese bosses.
