The Democratic party is the No Responsibility Party: Conservative leaders who have fallen short publicly apologize, take responsibility for their actions, and work on changing. Leaders on the Left simply are not held into account in the same manner. The media give them a free pass and rank-and-file leftists do not want to question them. Being a leader on the Left means never having to say you are sorry. It’s time for that to change.


When Trent Lott put his foot in his mouth, he lost his leadership position. And then went on to apologize over and over. Compare that to Robert Byrd, ex KKK leader, gutter racist, and enemy of civil rights - has he ever apologized? No. He doesn't need to. And not only is he the leader of his party in the Senate, he is lauded as a noble statesman.

Or think of Ted Kennedy - everyone knows he, at the least, killed a young woman while driving drunk. Then he left the scene and delayed reporting the accident till the next afternoon when his blood alcohol had dropped and he could no longer be proven drunk. Ordinary people go to prison for what he did - he sits in the Senate.

Or Barney Frank - being gay was one thing but he had a gay prostitute living with him. Didn't damage his career at all.

Or compare Clinton to Newt Gingrich or any number of Republican pols who've resigned when disgraced.

One party disciplines its politicians and one doesn't care about morality at all.
