How is that question relevant to anything. Are you asserting that the only threat we need to worry about is a conventional invasion of the US by China? If that was the only threat than yes our military budget could be much smaller.

We're 5% of the world's population that spends as much as the other 95% on our military.

I've already gone in to some of the reasons why the official figures overstate the percentage of our resources we put in to the military compared to other countries. Having said that we do pay a lot more for our military than anyone else, but then threats to our interests aren't exactly determined by dollars. Its not like if an enemy spends $1mil to cause some problem for us somewhere that we can just spend a million to counter it and it disappears.
