True few though of buying real estate when it really was dirt cheap in Florida back in 1997 in order to get rich. Still the overhang of the S&L disaster, tight underwriting and homestead tax avoidance was once in a lifetime up till then. Of course folks in real estate related businesses were dirt poor back then too and didn't seem to have capital or access to capital.. The change I experienced from 1997-2003 was just incredible. Almost like going through a time machine spanning several generations when I sit back and reflect..
