I agree. The press has really let us down, in many ways- but then again, they only sell what people want to buy- and people want OJ, and serial killings, and scandal- people don't seem all that interested in their civil liberties, so if they are not interested, the media will not be interested either. As a society, we get pretty much what we deserve (at the moment we get more than we "deserve" in material terms, but that will change relatively soon).
