I don't know about inconsistency. My point is just that Citigroup presents doubling-ordering as a fact, when on all the calls I've heard, managements say that they monitor end-demand and see no signs customers are ordering more than goes out. Every one insists inventories are lean through-out. So what evidence does Citi have, or is this just surmise?

On the other hand, the stocks have been acting poorly, which may be technical, as we digest gains (and shred the value of call options), but could also be an early warning of a business downturn.
