The "success" of the Iraqi elections as you put it, is not measured by the fact that "alotta" people voted. But it would be just like a republican to say so, before the votes have been counted and before any actual governing has occurred. And to suggest that any election occurring under the occupation of a foreign army is somehow a sign of progress is to forget our own history.

All that W and his criminal cohorts, here and in Iraq, have really accomplished, at the expense of thousands of innocent lives, is to push Iraq into the arms of Iran. Have you seen the stories about truckloads of fake ballots coming from Iran? Have you heard the public statements from the sunnis indicating that the insurgency will not end as long as the US is in Iraq? Then and only then will the "success" of any election be revealed. Any "fair and balanced" news to the contrary is pure bullshit fed to hungry americans who can't deal with the truth.
