They got me!

I inadvertently clicked on a link and immediately my computer was infested with viruses!!

The infestation was so bad, I couldn't even get online to the web.

In desperation, I scanned using AVG (which was on, but didn't prevent the attacks) and eliminated some of the viruses. Next, I re-installed Windows XP. These steps have helped me now to be back online, however I think my computer has spyware and the registry needs fixing.

HELP! Any suggestions on how to get rid of spyware and fix the registry?
