<Not sure why you say this is a non-event. While licensing revenues will not be a factor in Amati's overall success, It does validate their technology. I would say it also paves the way for others to license by setting a legal precedent. Many of these companies have publically stated they wouldn't license from Amati.>

As with all of Amati's licenses, the dollar figures are not reported - though we know it needs to be "fair and reasonable", and that ADI originally said they would NOT license from Amati or if they did, they wouldn't pay very much.

So revenues to Amati from this (and ALL licensing) DEFINITELY don't support the current stock price.

No legal precedent is set. Aware claims it has ANSI compatibility w/o licensing, and it has been suggested that ANSI functionality can be achieved w/o Amati linecode. If USRX ever licenses, that would indicate that either ANSI compliance was NOT achievable w/o Amati - OR - that Amati became an even more willing licensor.

Telechoice was correct, as admitted by Amati themselves at the time - no contract had been signed (in contrast to what Pat stated when she reported here that the deal was *done*).

IMO, she probably heard that Amati was going to make the license with ADI happen, and she interpreted this as already being done. Amati had likely initially tried to gouge ADI, and ADI balked. AMTX knowing that they could make it happen at the right price (read in ADI's "not much" comment here), they probably saw it was in their interest to license at ADI's price.
