Nothing compared to the dishonesty of Bushie ads versus Kerry. Those were flat-out lies and libel. You can't find a single negative ad of Bush or the smearvets which was in any sense true. Not even close.

Kerry voted to take away all the weapons we're using in the war on terror.

Kerry was a coward and traitor in Vietnam.
Kerry is not fit to be commander in chief.
Kerry betrayed on troops and POW's.

All total BS. Kerry also voted FOR the same weapons in different, better bills. He had the exact same voting record Zell Miller did on weapons systems during the time Miller was a senator. he is no hawk but he's for a strong smart military and knows how to get things done right.

Kerry was a sterling hero in Vietnam and by 1971 the Vietnam War badly needed ending. The truth about that war also badly needed to be told. Remember, in those days the government could cover up the ugly dishonest part of the war and get away with for years. There was no internet of 24 hour news on TV. Kerry helped tell the truth. However painful. The truth embarrassed Nixon and helped force him to end the war sooner. That saved a lot of US lives, including those of POW's. That war was a lost cause by then anyway. Completely.
