Upon reflection <g> I think you are right. At least I hope you are. I considered the possibility last night, but figured the paper was going to scatter the light enough to critically reduce the return signal's amplitude. In any case, I will test some more (a Post-it on top of masking tape will settle it) and report back tonight. Sorry I can't do it right now, I gave Mom my PP Zip last week, and won't have another here at work until they ship Zip+.

BTW, while on vacation, I attached the PP Zip to my host's PC and ran the GUEST.EXE to demonstrate it's simplicity. He was so impressed he is now in the market for one to allow him to port his software to customers. He customizes both hardware and software for PC-ish boxes that control manufacturing processes. Right now he uses lots of floppies, and is really looking forward to switching to Zip.
