I think everyone here is VERY aware of the lack of intellectual depth and breadth in the WH! Certainly Ele and Kholt and I have discussed it since before the election.

But I also think that is exactly what appealed to the average American in both Bush's election. The good old boy with common sense! Forget that silly booklarnin'! They believed him(which is why this accumulation of secretive acts is going to destroy him).

Kerry's intellectual affectations (or what often came across as affectation) turned off a lot of voters. People distrust eggheads. EVen you seem to be speaking disparagingly about the people on this thread because they enjoy the details. Where else can you discuss minutiae? In real life, most people don't even know who the VP is.
