Yes. I imagine it would get the point across. Society can be coercive- but the constitution really isn't meant to protect us from the coercive nature of society watching us. I think the constitution is most certainly meant to protect us from government spying on us- that is why the government must get court permission before they listen to our conversations, look at our bank records, or rifle through our belongings. It seems obvious to me that part of freedom is the freedom to be left alone. If you don't value being left alone, then you might not understand that freedom, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Can you honestly argue that there is no freedom in being left alone? And if you cannot argue that being left alone is not a freedom, then how could you possibly argue that being followed and snooped on is not a violation of one's freedom? It's privacy, absolutely, but it's also a negative freedom, the right and freedom to be left unmolested, alone, uninterfered with, unobserved, unfollowed.
