Thomas I thought it was fair enough if the USA invaded if they could persuade some soldiers to take it on. Saddam was by all accounts a very nasty piece of work and his son Uday a horror. I dare say Qusay wasn't all nice either.

Which isn't to say one should just swallow every fantasy hook line and sinker like a mindless zombie. It was obvious to me that the WMDs were going to be pretty thin on the ground and inconsequential. It's amusing that the USA was so convinced that Iraq was loaded up with them.

Americans are very gullible. I was right [as usual] and they were wrong, unsurprisingly.

I was also right about how long the war would take [one Globalstar orbit - 110 minutes, if I remember rightly, though I was exaggerating for fun] and that there would be a quick surrender, disappearance of military targets and a rearguard guerrila action with something like 3000 Americans killed. Guesswork admittedly, but as I say, one doesn't have to go places to figure things out reasonably well.

I'm considering offering my services to the Pentagon and the President as a military and geopolitical strategist - I will only charge US$10 an hour. What a bargain!! No, what the heck! I'll do it for free. They have got some fun coming up with Taiwan and I can advise them on that too. Not to mention North Korea, Syria and a LOT of fun with Iran.
