Stagflation is a signpost on the way towards a full blown deflationary recession/depression.

Once housing/remodeling goes, consumer spending follows as well as increasing unemployment. Demand for everything falls creating an oversupply of nearly everything. Excess supply over demand equals falling prices.

I'm not saying money supply falls. I'm saying prices fall for nearly all assets and consumer goods.
