This Latin American political cycle appears to be going full circle - back to the 70's & 80's - it has been moving slowly but surely and for more than 10 years ... only a matter of time.

Remember Panama, Nicaragua, San Salvador, Haiti ... not necessarily in that order. Argentina has been swaying left-right-left-right for more than 35 years - IMO there is no political CENTER there.

In the last year there were problems with unrest among the Indians in Guatemala and Peru, but for the most part lacked organization, someone was paid off, and/or were heavily suppressed.

Little attention was paid to what was happening until Chavez aligned himself with Castro's principles, started making life difficult for foreign/USA business, and investors started getting nervous.

then ... Chavez backed up the truck with that miliatary equipment order from China ... what's he gonna do with that huge stockpile of firepower when it is delivered? Invade Columbia? Guyana? Brazil?

Time is not on our side ... Mexico continues to become more and more problematic ... It is already lawless - IMO it is our next real Vietnam.

In the end, we will be left with only the good old USA and Canada as politically safe for exploration. BWDIK

I thought Tom's rules were "No Politics"?
