While I accept that white racism and its reverse -- black hatred of whites -- is a definite factor, why I say that it's different this time is (a) it's clearly part of a globally and deliberately orchestrated demonstration of racial antagonism, especially against Muslims or people who appear to be Muslims, and (b) that it's accompanied by repressive "anti-terrorist" legislation which, in fact, is not aimed just at the whites who may have been responsible in Australia, but as Patriot Act-type removal of rights and extension of government control over the populace, in other words, fascism.
