I thought that the President's speech last night was well done. Betsy's Page I notice that the focus in TV analysis is on "ooh, he admitted mistakes." Aparently, that is the most important thing to some of these TV pundits. Not what we've accomplished or what the future holds. Nope, that is all unimportant compared to the "error acknowledgement factor." I also thought that this was the President's best-delivered speech from the Oval Office. He usually sounds pretty wooden when he doesn't have an audience there and he did better coming across a bit more naturally. I thought he did a good job of addressing his critics and explaining what was at stake if we were to pull out of Iraq prematurely. I'm glad that the White House has decided that it is time to answer back from the constant drumbeat of criticism that has engulfed the war for the past year. I hope they'll continue on the offensive.
