In today's media/political culture, hostility=entertainment=ratings so it's considered a plus on most talk-radio outlets and TV political debate shows. I think they are 99% garbage. But I also don't waste my time listening or watching to them, so I am obviously not the target audience. It's mostly Jerry Springer with politicians instead of incestuous in-laws in the trailer park.
