07:30 AMKR Amkor raises Y05 revenue and gross margin guidance (5.61 ) Co now sees Q4 assembly and test revenues to be up 13-15% sequentially, up from previous guidance of 6-8% growth, with associated gross margin of 22-23%, up from previous guidance of 19-20%. CEO comments, "Higher than expected revenue in the fourth quarter of 2005 is attributable to strong demand in our major product groups including test...Improved factory utilization coupled with product mix and higher average selling prices contributed to better than expected gross margin. Our customers' forecasts indicate continued strong demand into the first quarter of 2006."
