I am always left in awe of this kind of statement. We are all going to die K. The assessment on what to do about that should be prioritized. At the top of my list is probably the same as yours ... to live. Starting from that point I like to embellish a bit...

To live according to reason: That is an easy one since there is really no escaping reason, is there.

To live a purposeful life: Not as easy since we often find ourselves bound to the paradoxes and ironies of our circumstance. Especially when faced with difficult choices.

To support the common good and encourage others in that direction as well: Beneficent life is one that regards the well being of self and others in similitude, and requires the stretch of imagination beyond material benefits.

So it seems to me that the risk assessment should be regarding the loss of commitment for the common good, rather than merely a head count ... especially since we both know no body gets saved when it is all said and done.
