Bush broke the law and lied about it. Clinton did not.
CLinton did not do any illegal eavesdropping. Eavesdropping itself is not illegal, on the contrary, but there are prosecures which are part of our checks and balances which make up the legal foudnation of our democracy.
What Bush did by ignoring the courts was illegal. Black and white, very simple to understand, even for a simpleton like you. Then Bush lied about it, though we still don't know who exactly Bush broke the law to spy on. If it was Osama, OK maybe, if not, then he is in deep trouble.
Those courts are set up for good reason, they can react immediately to give warrants, 24/7. They even allow for a 72-hour window to go ahead and eavdrops.
Clearly, this spying has nothing to do with Al Qaida. It is something else, domestic spying, political spying, against targets Bushies can't let the court know about.
Bush's only defense is flimsy but vanishes if his targets are not Al Qaida suspects. He he spied on anyone else, he has no argument or excuses whatsoever and should be tried, impeached and removed from office for high crimes. |
