Using the technology of the 1920s, it would take every man woman and child in the US to run the telephone switchboards. There is no shortage of things that need doing. And yes, it is all about brainpower. The fact is, right now, our farms take one 2% of our workforce and our factories not much more than that. Most everybody else is one variation or another of "service" worker -- and I am including construction services in that category. The Luddites had it wrong -- but they seem to live on and post on this thread.
