What's the principle at stake? From what I read it's been challenged in other administrations and courts have ruled it's within the President's powers.

The extent of the President's powers is the principle. You may think it's settled and maybe it is but lots of people haven't internalized it yet.

I would think you would be just a tad uncomfortable with the notion that the president could do anything he damned well pleased as long as it's under the national security rubric. I would think that LB would be, too, which is why I asked if he was serious about it.
