It is clear that the U.S. government used Saddam to attack Iran, supplied him with arms then turned their backs on him when it was not longer politically expedient. About as clear as mud Len... Please, for the benefit of the entire thread, list for us the weaponry and arms that you claim we provided to Saddam in order to facilitate his attack upon Iran?? And how come we didn't find any of these weapons when we invaded Iraq in OIF if we were such vast proliferators of American made weaponry to Saddam's regime?? How come they all have Russian made tanks, rifles, grenades, RPGS, and most importantly, Russian and French made aircraft?? Oh.. I know.. We bought them from the Russians to give to the Iraqis.. Right?? Of course the Russians would NEVER sell weapons to any other country of their own volition... The CIA does much more financing of terror (in the name of democracy) and our government welcomes tyrants, thieves, and Nazis if they are of use to us. Blah, blah.. CIA this.. CIA that... But people like you NEVER SEEM TO GIVE A RAT'S @SS ABOUT WHAT THE KGB, (NOW FSB) OR ANY OTHER INTELLIGENCE AGENCY UNDERTOOK ON SADDAM'S BEHALF.. Let me ask you... Who sold Iraq two nuclear reactors in the late '70's?? And who was the French politician who PERSONALLY MET WITH SADDAM on one of Saddam's FEW TRIPS ABROAD to consumate the reactor deal.. freerepublic.com amitiesquebec-israel.org And the famous photo of Saddam and this "mystery leader" together in 1975... freerepublic.com NOW LEN...
