Opinion, no matter what the source, is not science and should not be taught as scientific fact. But the Establishment Clause specially bars State public schools from teaching religion in a manner other than history, culture, or literature. No teaching religious doctrine as scientific fact.
For the record, if you quoted Margulis correctly, she is incorrect. A scientific worldview cannot rule out angels, demons, or gods because science is only concerned with the natural, not supernatural world. If she were more precise, she would have said that science is agnostic as to the existence of angels, demons, and gods.
