The just reported downgraded earnings numbers put forth by CSFB for FY06 and FY07 for MRVL are due to adjustments for "stock compensation" expenses.

<<Options Adjusted Estimates

• CSFB Policy. CSFB’s policy mandates that all company estimates
include stock-based compensation expense by December 31, 2005.
With this report we are adjusting our estimate to account for the
impact of options.>>

This means, of course, that CSFB will be lowering estimates for most tech stocks they follow during the next few days to take into account stock option projected expense on the bottom line.

This in turn, may cause other stocks in the tech sector to have a negative stock price reaction, as MRVL did today - down over 6+ percent for the day.
