"progressive" is code for liberal. "

Not for me. I consider it as an alternative for liberal. I consider myself in the mold of TR. I think guys like Rudy Giuliani and Ronald Reagan were progressive. Todays liberals are truly reactionaries yearning for the the good old days of the new deal. In NY Transit union thought it was 1060 and got a lesson. Conservatives suffer from an arrogance of power and have not come up with new ideas for some time now. Dems are lost in the past. Time for one party or the other to pick up the true progressive mantle without regard for ideology. mike@eclectic.com
