Sorry Kev but this is nearly a universal myth, promoted by anti-religious people.

"I believe. Those of faith seem to worry that science leads to secularism. I just don't see how people leap to that conclusion. Discovering God's mysteries through good ole traditional scientific means seems to be a very noble and worthwhile cause."

I have never met one single religious person who doesn't want their children to learn every scientific principle and to excel as much as possible in the field of scientific discovery (I am sure there are some nutcases who are as extreme as you label all religious people, I have just never met any). To religious people science represents the best tool available to study and learn about God's creation, in a way that benefits human beings in noble and worthwhile ways.

Most religious people love science they just don't view it as a contradiction to faith in an eternal and infinite perfection.
