My last computer was put together by the company I bought the components from. I researched them for weeks and then put the order in. At the last minute I decided on a AMD Dual Core chip, unfortunately the motherboard didn’t support a Dual Core chip and the sales guy didn’t catch it nor did the assembler who builds computers everyday.

I was wondering why this thing was slower than expected, then I started to get all sorts of software errors.

I took the system back, and the service tech said I had an unsupported motherboard and the hard drive failed the SMART test, so he put another same brand hard drive in the system and loaded Windows, it would not load stable. It turns out that batch of hard drives was defective, after a few days they got the system back up and running 100% stable.

The box is nice, it’s a Lian Li black aluminum case, next system I get will have the same brand of case, really pleased with the look and quality of the case.

I would buy another computer from them with no hesitation, I would just make sure myself the all the components are compatible with each other, not just rely on their expertise.

One thing about a custom machine is the huge amount of choices you have, it’s the only way to go.

PS
I respect you guys that build your own boxes from scratch, my hang up is installing the motherboard, after reading the manual for the motherboard, seems like a lot of things can go wrong if you are not careful. Installing the rest of the stuff is a piece of cake.
